C-Kermit is a
feature rich Terminal Emulator program with a built in
Kermit Server. |

Installing
C-Kermit for Windows |
|
The following
procedure installs C-Kermit (Version 10 Beta 4) |
|
1. |
Download the following ZIP file: |
|
c-kermit v10b4 |
2. |
Extract the contents of the ZIP file to a
temporary folder |
3. |
Check
it's contents - there should
be 2 folders and 2 shortcut
files: |

Folders: |
|
c-kermit |
C-Kermit
program folder |
c-kermit_cpm-68k_shared |
C-Kermit
file transfer folder |
Shortcuts: |
|
c-kermit |
C-Kermit
program shortcut |
c-kermit cpm-68k shared |
C-Kermit

4. |
Copy the
two folders to C:\ |
5. |
Copy the
two shortcuts to the desktop |
6. |
Open the
k95custom.ini file located in the C:\c-kermit
folder |
|
The
'set line' entry defines which COM Port C-Kermit
will use |
|
modify to
match the COM Port of your USB to Serial Adapter |
7. |
Save and
Quit |
|
|
C-Kermit
is now installed |
|
Running
C-Kermit for the first time |
|
1. |
Launch
C-Kermit using the new desktop icon |
|
'Windows
protected your PC' appears |
2. |
Click
'More info' |
3. |
Click the 'Run
anyway' button |
|
'Location
Information' appears |
4. |
Enter your
telephone area
code or fake it with a 0 |
5. |
Click
the 'OK' button |
|
'Phone and
Modem' appears |
6. |
Click
the 'OK' button |
|
C-Kermit
starts |
7. |
Close
C-Kermit |
8. |
Launch
C-Kermit again |
|
'Open File
- Security Warning' appears |
9. |
Uncheck
'Always ask before opening this file' |
10. |
Click
the 'Open' button |
|
|
C-Kermit and
Windows are now 'happy' |
