The Memory-2 Board
This computer like all other computers comes to life though software, it needs software that runs at start-up, and so here we introduce TUTOR.
 
TUTOR
 

TUTOR is a ROM resident 68K Monitor program originally designed for use with the Motorola MC68000 Educational Computer Board (MEX68KECB).

The version of TUTOR here (V1.3.0X) has been adapted for use with the Mega-68000 Computer System fitted with the following boards:

1x Memory-2 Board (IC2 with gal8 firmware + J1 open & JB1 pins 5-6 short)

1x Dual 6850 Board (Base Address: F1xxxx + J1 pins 2-3 short)
 
The TUTOR ROM is an AMD Am27C4096 256K x 16 UV EPROM. The lower half of the ROM resides in memory at FC0000-FFFFFF, the upper half is unused and unaddressable.
 
The very popular and inexpensive TL866A MiniPro Programmer was used here to program the TUTOR ROM. Before attempting to program the ROM with a TL866A check the following ...

Firmware Ver: 03.2.86
 
... and upgrade if necessary before proceeding.
 
Programming IC6
 
1. Download the following file:
  tutor_v1.3.03_27c4096r.bin
   
  Previous versions:
  tutor_v1.3.02_27c4096r.bin
  tutor_v1.3.01_27c4096r.bin
   
2. Launch the TL866A's Application Software (MiniPro Programmer)
3. Using the 'Select IC' button set the device type to AMD AM27C4096
4. Change VPP Voltage to 12.50V in 'IC Config Information'
5. Goto Open(O) from the File(F) menu and browse in the tutor_v1.3.01_27c4096r.bin file
6. Goto Program(P) from the Device(D) menu
7. Insert a blank Am27C4096 part in the TL866A's ZIF socket
8. Click the 'Program' button
  'Programming Successful!' appears
9. Click the 'Cancel' button
10. Remove the programmed Am27C4096
